In 2005, I met John and my life was finally complete. In 2011, the day to return to Costa Rica permanently finally came. John and I officially retired, and moved to Atenas, Alajuela, Costa Rica. The first year we lived in our humble 300 square foot casita, while we watched our new home being built. In May of 2012, we moved into "la casa grande" and now our Casita Limón is available as a short term vacation rental.
In November, 2019, I became a proud Citizen of Costa Rica.
Our blogs are about all the things, or "Chunches" we find along our magical journey through life. I started the first blog, Mi Chunche (My Thing-a-ma-jig) back in 2006 when we first bought out property in Costa Rica. Shortly thereafter, we started to evaluate what we would pack and take with us, and what would be left behind.
I had cookbooks and kitchen drawers stuffed with scraps of paper documenting all the recipes I had developed over a lifetime Obviously, it was time to get organized and prepare for the big move. I started re-writing all the recipes so I could save them electronically on my PC. Then it dawned on me, create a recipe blog and the recipes will always be available for family and friends on the web. Thus I created our second blog, called "Mi Chunche ....en la cocina," which translates to "My thing ...in the kitchen.
I hope you enjoy my recipes, and I'd love to read your comments. I can be reached by email at txtita @ gmail DOT com.
